Pak flag, HM poster, mobile phones seized from Srinagar jail in NIA raid

SRINAGAR: As many as 20 sleuths of National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday raided the Srinagar Central Jail and seized a Pakistani flag, a poster of Hizbul- Mujahideen and over two dozen mobile phones besides some SIM cards and Jehadi literature.
The raid which was impending in view of repeated reports of poor prison management especially in the fallout of LeT terrorist Naveed Jatt's escape from SMHS hospital last month said to be planned inside the prison was carried out by twenty NIA officials assisted by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and National Security Guards.
As many as 25 mobile phones, a number of SIM cards, 5 storage cards, 5 pen drives, along with 1 iPod were seized during the searches in which services of drone cameras was also pressed.
"A Pakistan flag and a poster of Hizbul-Mujahideen outfit, besides other incriminating material documents and articles were also recovered," an official said.
The Srinagar jail had attracted the attention of the security agencies after LeT terrorist Naveed Jatt alias Abu Hunzullah, who was taken for medical check up from the jail on February 6, escaped with the help of associates inside the jail.
Two policemen were killed by the militants at Srinagar's S.M.H.S Hospital when the terrorist was freed.
All high-risk militants lodged in Srinagar Central Jail have since been shifted to prisons outside the Kashmir Valley.
