Pak deploys sharp-shooters along LoC, suggest intelligence reports

JAMMU: Continuing its nefarious attempts at targeting Indian troops, Pakistan army is reported to have deployed as many as 145 sharp shooters so as to facilitate sniping on the other side of Line of Control (LoC) with Jammu and Kashmir.
Intelligence reports suggested that Pakistan has done so in desperation Indian troops have been giving befitting reply to Pakistan's repeated Ceasefire Violations.
Irritated with strong retaliation from India, Pakistan's army and ISI is now planning to target Indian troops in coward operations like sniping and Border Action Team (BAT), the sources who claim to have access to these intelligence reports told The News Now.
"These sharp shooters are being deployed at Machil, Uri and Tangdar sectors in North Kashmir; and Poonch, Mendhar, Balakote, Bhimber Gali, Krishna Ghati, Nowshera sectors in Jammu region," said sources and added that these shooters have been deployed with Mujaheed Battalions of Pak army and will act under their guidance.
The sharp-shooters, specially trained by Pak army under Special Operation Team (SOT), can also be used for BAT operations, they said, adding that Pak army is also using sharp shooters from Hizbul Mujahideen, Lashkar-e-Toiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist outfits.
"As per intelligence inputs, these shooters were trained at Fagosh, Boyi, Madarpur and Devliyan training camps in Pakistan occupied Kashmir," they said.
The sources also revealed that Pakistan army is giving a price money of Rs 50,000 to Rs 1,00,000 to each such shooter for one successful operation.
The defence sources while agreed to have received the information as being shared by intelligence agencies with army headquarters, asserted that Indian army has sounded a high-alert on the LoC, especially in the wake of the fact that after south of Pir Panjal in Poonch-Rajouri areas of Jammu region, now Pakistan has violated ceasefire at LoC in North of Pir Panjal in Kashmir region.
According to official figures, 860 incidents of ceasefire violations by Pakistani army were reported in 2017 as against 221 in 2016.
Among these CFV incidents by Pakistan, many were sniping incidents too. Similarly, 28 Indian soldiers attained martyrdom and 70 soldiers suffered injuries.
