JAMMU: Two weeks after she suffered a gas cylinder blast, the daughter of Kargil MLA Asgar Ali Karbalai succumbed to her injuries on Friday.
Zainab Karbalai had suffered 70 per cent burn injuries when a gas cylinder accidentally caught fire and exploded at her residence here on February 10.
She died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Mumbai, officials said.
Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti expressed her heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
"My deepest condolences to MLA Kargil, Asgar Karbalai on the loss of his daughter," Mehbooba wrote on Twitter.
"We are with you & your family in this time of grief," she added.
The Legislative Council Chairman Haji Anayal Ali, among others, also condoled the demise of Zainab Karbalai.
