Justice Ramalingam nominated JKSLSA's executive chairman

JAMMU: The state government on Wednesday nominated Justice Ramalingam as the Executive Chairman of the State Legal Services Authority (SLSA) for a period of three years.
The judge was nominated in consultation with the chief justice of the high court, Justice Badar Durrez Ahmed.
"In exercise of the powers conferred under clause (b) of Sub-section (2) of section 3 of the Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authorities Act, 1997 and in supersession of notification SRO 486 of 2014 dated 11th November, 2014, the government in consultation with the Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir, has nominated Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar, Judge of the State High Court as Executive Chairman of the State Legal Services Authority (SLSA)," the official release read.
Constituted on February 18, 1998, the SLSA provides free and competent legal services to the weaker section of the society to ensure their opportunity for securing justice.
It also organises Lok Adalats to secure the operation of the Legal system, promote justice on the basis of equal opportunity.
