IRS officer arrested on charge of eve teasing a Sikkimese student

Patna, Feb 21 : Police arrested a senior Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer from Digha police station area in the state capital late last night on charge of eve teasing a girl student from Sikkim.

Deputy Police Superintendent (Law and Order) Shibli Nomani said that IRS officer Ram Babu Gupta was arrested after a student from Sikkim living in the hostel of Eklavaya Super 30 coaching institute accused the officer of making a sexual assault on her. He said that other girl students from Sikkim living in the hostel also corroborated the allegation of victim girl made against IRS officer. He said that an FIR had been lodged at Digha police station in this connection.

Mr Nomani said that it was found during the investigation that Mr Gupta hismelf was running the coaching institute. He said that the victim girl's father had also reached the state capital from Sikkim.
