#Helmet-condom | Send Basant to mental hospital: Cong legislator

JAMMU: Irked over IGP Traffic Jammu, Basant Rath’s “Helmet is like a condom” remark, a Congress legislator here demanded that the police officer be sent to any mental hospital for treatment.

He said that the mental health of the police officer was not good and hence he should be sent to any psychiatric centre for treatment.

“And if this government cannot do this, the police officer will prove disastrous to the society,” MLA Bandipora, Usman Majid Wani told a news channel here in Jammu.

MLA Bandipora questioned, “Do ladies also wear condom (Referring to Rath’s helmet-condom remark) over their head? This officer is completely retarded. Rather this government is not in good mental health as it made him IGP Traffic.”

“We’re preparing to celebrate women day. Is this the way to empower women folk? This is highly shameful from an IPS officer that he compared condom with helmet,” Wani said.

Wani further slammed the police officer for allegedly kicking common man’s vehicles, beating them.

“Is this democracy that an officer kicks anyone’s vehicle, beat people? I don’t think it is,” he said.

He added that “If government will not attach or send this person to mental health care centre, I think this government is also retarded.”
