1 shot dead, 9 wounded as dacoits strike Kakori area
Lucknow, Jan 21 : One person was killed and nine others were wounded when dacoits opened fire and attacked several houses in Baniakhera- Katauli villages of Kokori in the Uttar Pradesh capital.
The assailants, who were around 10 in number, on Saturday night attacked the house of Katauli Pradhan Harishanker Yadav and opened fire in which his young son was killed while nine others were wounded.
The criminals looted valuables from the houses in the area within around two hours.
SSP Deepak Kumar on Sunday said the armed dacoits attacked both the villages at around 0200 hrs.
Confirming the death, the SSP said the Inspector of Kakori Police station has been suspended.
