JAMMU: Taking strong exception of former chief minister Dr Farooq Abdullah's controversial PoK remarks, the firebrand RSS leader, Indresh Kumar on Monday charged him of treason, claiming he (Farooq) violated a 22nd February 1994 resolution passed by the country's Parliament by advocating Pakistan's claim on the portion of Jammu and Kashmir occupied by Pakistan.
The top RSS leader was here today to discuss the souring relations of Pakistan with Baluchistan, Pakhtunistan, Sindh, Gilgit and Baltistan.
Addressing media persons, Indresh Kumar said, "Some tall leaders of the country like Farooq Abdullah have been issuing anti-country and Pro-Pakistan statements. Such elements need to be tried under the stringent laws of the country and booked for treason."
"Farooq, by advocating Pakistan's claim on Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) has violated a 22nd February legislation passed by the revered Parliament of the Country," Indresh said.
Pertinent to mention here, on 22nd February 1994, Indian Parliament unanimously passed a resolution in regard to Kashmir. The legislation reads, "On behalf of the People of India, the Parliament firmly declares that - (a) The State of Jammu & Kashmir has been, is and shall be an integral part of India and any attempts to separate it from the rest of the country will be resisted by all necessary means; (b) India has the will and capacity to firmly counter all designs against its unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity; and demands that - (c) Pakistan must vacate the areas of the Indian State of Jammu and Kashmir, which they have occupied through aggression; and resolves that -(d) all attempts to interfere in the internal affairs of India will be met resolutely." The resolution was unanimously adopted in the country's Parliament.
The RSS leader further said, "Farooq has also vindicated the fact that he is not an Indian but a Pakistani." "Who are these people to sell their motherland?" Indresh questioned.
"Farooq's statement has been even drawing flak from the inhabitants of PoK, Gilgit, Baltistan and Baluchistan, as they are up in arms against the NC leader for his irresponsible utterances, he said.
"The people living under the repression of Pakistan want to know who has given Farooq the mandate to advocate Pakistan's claim on PoK, Indresh said.
He also slammed the former Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh for his alleged "secret meeting" with Pakistani High Commissioner in Delhi. The All India Congress Committee has however refuted the allegations leveled against Dr Manmohan Singh by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
On Mani Shankar Aiyer calling Prime Minister a "Neech Aadmi", Indresh Kumar said that Congress has a history of doing such things.
"You see, in 1947, Congress didn't give country freedom but division. Later in Indira's tenure, the country witnessed emergency, Nehru Ji gave this country Kashmir issue. So, what else you would expect from Mani Shankar Aiyer?" he said quipped.
Speaking on Pak's souring relations with Sindh, Baluchistan, Pakhtunistan, Gilgit Baltistan, PoK, the RSS leader said since Independence of India an formation of Pakistan, none of the nations had accepted Pakistan as their country.
"Even those Indian Muslims, who preferred to settle in Pakistan after the division of this country, are being treated as Muhajir (emigrant) there. More than 2 lakh of them have been killed till date and lakhs of them are living miserable life in Pakistan," he added.
He said that India, by all means, shall take back the area illegally occupied by Pakistan and shall strive hard for the freedom of people of Baluchistan, Sindh, Pakhtunistan, Gilgit and Baltistan.
