Two terrorists arrested

SRINAGAR: In a major success, the security forces on Wednesday managed to arrest two terrorists- both of them involved in the encounter that broke out in Kund village of Kulgam district a day before. Both the terrorists were injured in yesterday's gunfight, with one arrested from the encounter site while the other was arrested at a Naka in close vicinity of the area.
The security forces on Wednesday arrested a Hizb-ul-Mujahideen terrorist in injured condition, in Kund village of Kulgam in southern part of Kashmir, reports said.
A police official identified the terrorist as Aaqib Ahmad, a resident of Rangath Noorabad and said that he was arrested from the same area where a fresh gunfight broke out.
Aqib, according to reports had received injuries during yesterday's gunfight with the forces where an Army jawan and a terrorist were killed in the encounter, sources said. He had slipped into forests during the gunfight.
The police claimed to have arrested another terrorist during 'naka' checking in the district.
Shamsul Waqar alias Pyara was arrested during checking at Check-e-Budwani in Kulgam, the official said.
He said that he was arrested along with a rifle in Wangam area of Qazigund near railway station, police officials said.
They said he was arrested in an injured condition by armed police in civvies near railway station.
Viqar, a resident of Laram Ganjipora village of Islamabad district, had joined Lashkar-e-Toiba in March this year. Before joining militancy, he was a student of Delhi Public School (DPS) Sangam.
