Jammu Shines at IIT Kanpur

Kanpur: One of the most prestigious national fests in India, IIT Kanpur’s Antaragni was held recently.

For the first time, students from Jammu’s leading music and personality development institute, Heritage Strings – School of Rock, participated in the esteemed event and brought laurels to the state.

The auditions for Antaragni were conducted in September at K L Saigal Hall and were organised by Anmo lAmla, Director – Heritage Strings. Geetika Kohli, internationally acclaimed writer from Jammu presided as a judge for the reputed Poetry Slam competition. She was honoured at IIT Kanpur for her achievements in the field of poetry and literature in general. Of the students who won accolades were Ishant Ganjoo (Dance) and DharvinderSheria (Rap).

The others whose performances were lauded include, Nipun Kohli (Photography); SanchitDewan, Ayush Singh, AnikShivgotra, JatinShivgotra and Manat (Rock Band); and NaturedeepKaur and Bilas (Hindi Vocals). The students got immense exposure witnessing an event of this stature that included live performances by Vishal and Shekhar, Euphoria, DJ KSHMR and Skyharbor Band. They also got a chance to interact with renowned actors, Rakesh Bedi,PrithviZutshi, Rajesh Sharma, VirendraSaxena, ZeishanQadri and Vineet Singh.Anmol Amla directed the entire team from Jammu to IIT Kanpur.
