Absconding 'grenade thrower' terrorists nabbed in Rajasthan

JAMMU: Highly proclaimed hi-tech and alert, the Jammu and Kashmir Police's trustworthiness came under scanner when three terrorists who had thrown a grenade at a police party in Srinagar in April this year resulting in death of a cop and injuries to many, not only managed to give slip to the police's grid, but also crossed four states before being nabbed in Rajasthan.
Sources said, "Identified as Sohail Ahmed, Ghulam Ahmed and Mohd Pora, three terrorists were nabbed from Jammu Tawi Express by a joint team of Railway Police and Government Railway Police at Nagore in Rajasthan."
Giving slip to the much acclaimed tight security grid and alert sounded by JKP, the trio managed to reach to Rajasthan.
"The trio was evading arrest after they hurled grenade in Nowhatta area on April 2nd this year which claimed the life of a constable and injuries to ten other cops, sources said.
Well informed sources said that Kulgam Police received information about their escaping from the state from the Intelligence Agency following which a message was flashed to the GRP (Railways).
"The message for their arrest had been flashed to the Kashmir Police," said sources, adding, "acting on the alert and pictures of three militants flashed by the J&K police, Rajasthan Police apprehended the trio.
They said that a Kashmir police team is likely to be dispatched to the Rajasthan to secure their arrest.
Pertinently, a policeman was killed and 10 others including an officer were injured in a grenade attack at Jammu and Kashmir's Nowhatta area on April 2, 2017.
The incident had taken place when the police party was returning from duty at around 7 pm.
