Calls on Vohra before leaving for Delhi, prevailing situation discussed

JAMMU: On the second day of his visit to Kashmir, BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav on Friday met with Governor N N Vohra at the Raj Bhavan, before leaving for New Delhi later in the day, while giving Jammu a miss this time.
Madhav discussed with the governor issues relating to the prevailing security situation and matters relating to hastening the developmental process and for promoting peace and normalcy, an official spokesman said.
Madhav who had landed in Srinagar in an effort to uplift BJP's downsizing graph in state on Thursday, didn't visit Jammu, as was earlier expected.
The in-charge Jammu and Kashmir affairs, Madhav on Thursday had chaired a meeting of BJP's ministers and workers, reviewed the performance of the party's ministers and took feedback from workers, amid complaints of 'non-performance' against some of the ministers.
He was expected to be in Jammu on Friday, however, the sources said, right after meeting with the governor N N Vohra this noon, he flied for New Delhi.
The BJP's pointsman in state, Madhav also didn't meet CM Mehbooba Mufti who hard came from Srinagar to Jammu on Thursday noon.
The much anticipated reshuffle in state cabinet is also, thus, not happening any time soon as of now, as per sources.
Madhav's visit was a follow-up to the recent visit of his colleague and general secretary (organisation) Ram Lal. These sequential meetings and hectic efforts of the BJP high-command is attributed to number of complaints submitted to the Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh by various delegations including sister concern of BJP concerning allegations of high-headedness of BJP ministers and gap among workers and leaders.
Meanwhile, former Union minister and Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar also met Vohra sharing here.
Aiyar shared his views with the governor regarding the steps required to be taken for the restoration of peace and normalcy in the state, the spokesman said.
