'Stick to basic agendas': Ram Lal carries high command's message to state BJP

National Gen Secy takes stock of party's working in state, serious on complaints against Ministers, legislators

JAMMU: After Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh got a detailed review of party's working in state, Bharatiya Janta Party's high-command has sent a clear message to the state unit to stick to its basic agendas and not to stray from it, while reminding that failure to it may lead to face serious consequences from workers, like-minded people and ideologues.
At a time, when face of business organisations in BJP's core area Jammu, Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCI) has called for Jammu Bandh against the failure of ruling BJP on addressing a number of issues related to region, party's National General Secretary (Organisation), Ram Lal has landed in the town forwarding a very clear message of the high-command to its state unit asking it to stick to its basic agenda.
Sources in the state BJP said that taking on a serious note the brewing resentment of Jammu based business and social organisations against party which they didn't shy away from presenting to Home Minister Rajnath Singh on his recent visit, BJP high-command has sent Ram Lal in town to pass on the message of party's national president Amit Shah.
After reviewing party's situation in the state, Lal will submit the report to Amit Shah and PM Narendra Modi.
Ram Lal's visit will be followed by party's national general secretary Ram Madhav who will be arriving here on two-day visit starting from September 23.
Meanwhile, BJP's National General Secretary (Org) Ram Lal reached here Sunday morning, garlanding statue of Pandit Premnath Dogra at Dogra Chowk on the occasion of birthday of PM Modi, before commencing a series of meetings at party's state office.
Ram Lal who started the business on agenda with meeting all BJP MLAs and MLCs at party headquarter from 3 pm to 4 pm, sought their views on the working of BJP's ministers in the coalition minister.
Though the legislators have not spoken against any minister, but the response was lukewarm at best, the sources within the party told.
Later, Lal told the legislators to work on the ground with dedication and stay connected with general public as well as party workers.
Meanwhile, Ram Lal also chaired a meeting of the newly inducted vice-chairpersons of various corporations from BJP, seeking a detailed review from them about the working of ministers as well as their own work sheets. This particular meeting started at 4:15 pm and concluded at 5:15 pm.
In the evening, Ram Lal chaired the BJP core group meeting from 5:15 pm to 7:30 pm in which BJP state president Sat Sharma, Deputy CM Dr Nirmal Singh, MoS PMO Dr Jitendra Singh, both MPs Jugal Kishore Sharma and Shamsher Singh Manhas, General Secretaries Harinder Gupta, Pawan Khajuria, Narinder Singh, MLC and Member National Executive, Ashok Khajuria and BJP general secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul participated.
Technically RSS's senior functionary in BJP termed as National General Secretary (Org) Ram Lal also reiterated in the Core Group meeting that BJP's state unit should stick to its core and basic agendas including the betterment of its core constituency Jammu.
He also passed instructions to BJP leaders to remain in touch with the party workers at ground level and address their grievances, while party is in power here.
