Meet Akshita - first woman from J&K to serve in the Indian Coast Guard

Jammu: Swimming against tide is not everyone’s specialty. It requires grit, assurance and perserverance to take on the challenge. In any case, for a woman arrival in an unchartered territory, about which little is known, surely brings out whispers all over.

Wanting to accomplish something else since her childhood, Akshita Sharma acknowledged to protect the country by voluntarily opting the service of Coast Guard- a profession where you can have the fulfillment of being required in the Nation’s barrier and addressing the difficulties at sea.

Presently she is posted on her first appointment as Assistant Commandant in Odisha. She hails from Janipur range of Jammu city. She has the qualification of being First Woman Officer from Jammu city in Indian Coast Guard Organization.

She did her schooling from MHAC, Nagbani School and after that finished the studies of Electrical Engineering from MIET, Kot Bhalwal.
