High Court gives target for disposal of cases to Trial Courts

Bail applications to decide with in one week

Jammu, JULY 27: State High Court gives Action Plan/Target for disposal of cases by the end of March 2018.
According to the circular issued by Registrar Vigilance to All Principal/Additional District and Sessions Judges shall take effective steps to decided criminal cases/ civil cases.
According to the circular for District & Sessions Judges to Decide/dispose of all cases of under-trials by 31.03.2018 where the charge sheet has been filed on or before 31.03.2015 and also decide and dispose of all criminal revisions by 31.03.2018 filed on or before 31.06.2017.
It is further directed to decide and dispose of by 31.03.2018 all criminal challans (irrespective of involvement of under-trials), wherein charge sheet/challan has been filed on or before 31.03.2013 and also decides and dispose of by 31.03.2018, all Criminal appeals, filed on or before 30.03.2016.
Regarding disposal of Civil cases, It is directed to decide and dispose of by 31.03.2018 all civil original suits and other Civil matters which have been filed by or before 31.03.2013 and also decide and dispose of ail civil miscellaneous appeals filed on or before 30.06.2017 by 31.03.2017 and also decide and dispose of all regular appeals filed till 31.03.2013 by 31.03.2018.
High Court also directed Special Judge Anticorruption/CBI of the State shall decide and dispose of all the cases filed on or before 31.03.2013 by 31.03.2017.
For Sub-Judges/Judicial Officers/ Munsiffs, High Court asked to decide/dispose of all cases of under-trials where the charge sheet/challan has been filed on or before 31.03.2016 by 31.03.2018 and also decide and dispose of all criminal Challan (irrespective of involvement of under-trials), wherein charge sheet/challan has been filed on or before 31.03.2013 by 31.03.2018.
High Court further directed that decide and dispose of all civil original suits and other civil matter which have been filed by or before 31.03.2013 by 31.03.2018 and if in any Court there is no case, instituted on or before 31.03.2013, pending, such Courts shall decide and dispose of all those civil matters which have been instituted on or before 31.03.2016 by 31.03.2018.
High Court further directed that all bail applications shall be decided within a week in terms of order dated 05.03.2017 of Apex Court passed in the case titled Hussain and Anr. Vs. Union of India.
High Court further directed Cases where interim orders have been passed, all such shall be decided within one month of passing of interim order. JNF
