'If dept has availed e-facilities, why people are still in queues?'

JAMMU: In January this year, RTO Jammu had announced to provide all the services online to the public, thus putting an end on the long queues outside the RTO office Narwal, Jammu.
But public visiting the RTO Office on daily basis complain that they could not take the benefits from e-initiatives of the RTO office.
A visitor, Balwinder Singh, resident of Pakki Dhakki, Jammu on Monday told The News Now, "I've been visiting the RTO office for the last two to three days to get my license but the officials here pass buck on each other. Some says there is shortage of stationary items, while other says the internet server is down."
"I would simply ask you a question: If the department has launched e-initiatives, why there are hundreds of people making beeline outside the RTO office," Singh said.
Manga Ram, a bus driver says, "I am here to submit passing fee for my vehicle but an overcharged amount."
On being asked the reasons, he says, "The day I visited RTO office to submit the fee, there was some problem with internet. So the next date I visited the RTO office, I was told to submit an extra amount. I don't think I am responsible for the internet problem."
A young lad-Arvind Singh who was at RTO Jammu office to know the status whether he was pass or fail in the trial he appeared for to get the license, says, "The RTO Jammu has launched a 'noble initiative' of sending SMS on the status on 'pass' or 'fail' but I didn't receive any SMS. So I am here."
Some people also complained that they don't get receipt for the token to be submitted at the RTO Jammu office as road tax to ply their buses on different routes.
ARTO Jammu, Neeraj Sharma however refuted all the allegations. He said, "Come and visit RTO office with any person complaining anything. You will get to know whether we're providing the receipt for the token or not."
On problems regarding stationary items, he said, "This is in-house matter. I think it would be better if seniors comment on this issue."
