JAMMU: The man who filed complaint against the National Conference lawmaker Showkat Gani for calling Hizb militant Burhan Wani a 'martyr' has said that he take the issue to Supreme Court.
One of the oldest BJP members in Kashmir Valley, Mohammad Sadiq Khan, also state president of BJP's minority cell, said that "Showkat Gani cannot be left under the garb of legislative immunity" and his complaint has not been taken seriously. "On the basis of similar remarks as made of Ganai the youth in Valley are booked under the Public Safety Act", said Khan and asked, "who could there be a different yardstick for the legislator making anti-national remarks".
He said there is no point of immunity to the Legislator and the provisions of privilege could not be invoked him to save him from prosecution as he made these remarks out of the House too.
I joined BJP, Sadiq Khan said, "because the party believes in the ideology of nation first". "I am firmly committed to the belief of nation first and in that direction I cannot let a person go who sides with anti-national forces", said Khan who also claimed to have contested 1999 Lok Sabha elections on BJP ticket from South Kashmir's Anantnag seat.
