Two cops fired after loot video goes viral

JAMMU: An Assistant Sub Inspector of Police and a Constable were today placed under suspension after a video footage vent viral showing them snatching clothes from street vendors just a few hundred meters from the Police Headquarters.
The Panama Chowk area, which has become famous for vendors selling winter clothing, was today under sudden Police clearance action in view of Digi Dhan mela being held in the nearby Gulshan Grounds where the Chief Minister was expected to some.
The cops pushed and shoved the vendors whisking them away from Panama Chowk area. An anonymous person posted a video on the social media which showed two cops taking away clothes from the vendors.
Taking cognizance of the public shaming, the Police suspended ASI Lal Singh and constable Javed, both were posted at the Police Post Nehru Market.
Later in the evening DIG Jammu Ashkoor Wani put another post on the social media which read, curiously, the following: “Dear members The video put in circulation has multiple dimensions about the subject. There is mix response about the action taken by police. It is not the way to stand on the matter. The intention of the police officials may not be wrong but the way action has been taken was incorrect. Therefore the action taken against the police officials sustain”.
