238 militants neutralised in South Kashmir since 2019

82 killed in Pulwama, 68 in Anantnag, 88 in Awantipora

SRINAGAR: Since 2019, as many as 238 militants have been killed during an encounter with security forces in three different parts of South Kashmir.
During the same time, around 66 youths have joined militant ranks while the security forces have arrested 67 ultras.
As per the details available, in 2019, as many as 12 militants were killed in Anantnag; 18 were killed in 2020, 17 in 2021, 19 in 2022, and 2 in the year 2023.
Further, one militant each was arrested in 2019 and 2020 in Anantnag, 3 in 2021, and two in 2022. While on the other hand, 2 youths joined militant groups from Anantnag in the year 2019, 3 in 2020, 2 in 2021, and one in 2022.
Further, as per the details available, there were 81 new recruitments in Jammu and Kashmir Police in Anantnag during the year 2019, 21 in 2020, 48 in 2021, 62 in 2022, and 16 last year. In 2019, 32 police personnel retired in Anantnag, 20 in 2020, 23 in 2021, 41 in 2022 and 41 in 2023.
In Awantipora, 23 militants were killed in 2019. In the same year, 5 militants were arrested, while 14 youth joined militancy. 32 militants were killed in 2020. In the same year, 11 were arrested, while 21 youth joined militancy in the same year.
18 militants were killed in 2021. In the same year, 23 were arrested, while 17 youth joined militancy in the same year. 13 militants were killed in 2021. In the same year, 21 were arrested, while 6 youths joined militancy the same year.
In 2023 and this year so far, no militant has been killed, no one has joined has been arrested, and no militant has been arrested. As per the details available, in 2019, as many as 21 militants were killed in Pulwama; 19 were killed in 2020, 17 in 2021, 24 in 2022, and 1 in the year 2023.
