Union minister to participate in huge rally at Kathua

Jammu: Union minister Dr Jitendra Singh and Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) candidate from Udhampur-Doda-Kathua parliamentary constituency is likely to file his nomination papers on March 21. The party is making preparations for a huge rally to be held at Kathua on March 21, which is likely to be attended by a senior union minister. As per sources, the J&K party unit is making efforts to hold rallies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath.
As per sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be holding only one election rally in Jammu and Kashmir during the campaigning, which is likely to be held either in Kathua or in Udhampur. Last month Modi had addressed a rally at MA Stadium.
The dates of filling nomination papers for Udhampur-Kathua LS seat is from March 20-28, while the seat goes to polls in first phase on April 19. Dr. Jitendra Singh is contesting from the seat for the third consecutive time.
The main contest in the Udhampur-Kathua LS seat is between BJP and Congress party. However, Congress has still not declared its candidate. However, the news is rife that former MP Choudhary Lal Singh is likely to join the Congress party shortly, where after Singh will be declared party nominee from Udhampur-Kathua LS seat. However the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) headed by Ghulam Nabi Azad has given mandate to G M Saroori as its candidate for Udhampur-Jammu Lok Sabha seat.
BJP is in a strong position to bag this seat for the third time and it has resulted in delay from opposition to filed their candidate. The National Conference has already clarified that they would not be contesting two seats of Jammu region, while PDP is yet to make its stand clear. BJP has made plans to ensure that the party wins the seat handsomely. 37 committees of the BJP are working at the ground level. Every detailer of the party is working at the booth level.
Addressing a public rally at Ramnagar today Dr Jitendra Singh said for the Udhampur constituency, the call should be for a victory margin of more than 4 lakh votes to beat the previous record of nearly 3.60 lakh. He added just as “Modi ki Guarantee” is in itself a guarantee, he is carrying home the guarantee of thousands of beneficiary women and sisters that they will ensure a mandate of 400 plus seats for Prime Minister Modi by not only casting their own vote but also ensuring the vote of their men folks.
As per sources Union Home Minister Amit Shah will address at least two election rallies in Jammu and Kashmir, while Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is likely to address two election rallies in Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts. Some other senior leaders of the party will also campaign in Jammu and Kashmir.
