Australian chef Gary Mehigan asks Huma Qureshi for consent before kissing, fans say ‘wow’

Actor Huma Qureshi is currently busy promoting her film Tarla, where she plays the role of homemaker-turned-chef Tarla Dalal. During a promotional event, Huma was greeted by chef Gary Mehigan, former MasterChef Australia judge. A video of the encounter has been circulating online, drawing attention to the moment when Gary politely asked Huma’s permission before giving her a kiss on the cheeks.

In the video doing the rounds on the internet, Gary greeted Huma. He then asked her, “Are we gonna kiss?” Huma replied saying, “yes.” The duo then had a brief conversation before they left for the venue. Fans on the internet praised Gary for his polite and respectful behavior. One of the fans said, “I liked the way he took permission.” Another wrote, “Wow that’s amazing judge of master chef Australia.”

Gary took to his Instagram handle and shared a picture with Huma. He wrote, “And what a privilege to meet Huma Qureshi @iamhumaq for the pre-release of her upcoming film “Tarla”, we had a fabulous chat about the OG Indian MasterChef that was Tarla Dalal and what it was like to step into her shoes for filming. Made maki rolls and tried a few wacky food combinations for fun.”

Tarla, a well-known personality in the culinary world, was famous for hosting cookery TV shows like ‘The Tarla Dalal Show’ and ‘Cook It Up With Tarla Dalal. She authored more than 100 cookbooks and was honored with the prestigious Padma Shri award in 2007.

Helmed by Piyush Gupta, the film also stars Sharib Hashmi, Bharati Achrekar, Amarjeet Singh, Rajeev Pandey, Purnendu Bhattacharya, and Veenah Naair.
