‘Drugs leta hai?’: Kapil Sharma recalls what Shah Rukh Khan asked him after he cancelled shoot, says SRK counselled him in his car

In a new episode of Seedhi Baat, Kapil Sharma bared his heart out. While he is a popular face now, there was a time when Kapil had to cancel the shows because he was unable shoot due to his anxiety issues. That was his depression phase, and on Seedhi Baat, Kapil revealed how Shah Rukh Khan's golden words helped him. For the uninitiated, Kapil Sharma made headlines few years ago when he cancelled the shoot with SRK.

WHEN SRK CONSOLED KAPIL SHARMA FOR AN HOUR

Kapil Sharma said that once Shah Rukh Khan was shooting near his location. The Bollywood superstar called the comedian and consoled him for over an hour. Kapil said, "It was a phase of anxiety and depression for me. I used to drink a lot and get my shoots cancelled. It used to make me feel guilty. My shoot with Shah Rukh bhai had also got cancelled. There was a day when he was shooting in Film City near my shoot location so he especially came to meet me. He has seen so much stardom so he would have understood where I was coming from. He made me sit in his car and talked to me for an hour."

Kapil added, "He asked me 'drugs lene lag gaya hai kya? So I told him no, I have never touched drugs in my life. I told him about the phase of depression I was going through in my life. He explained some good things to me. It was my first time dealing with depression so I did not know what I was going through."

Kapil Sharma is currently busy with the promotions of his upcoming film with Nandita Das titled Zwigato. Directed by Nandita and produced by Applause Entertainment, the film will release on March 17. Zwigato also stars Shahana Goswami alongside Kapil. Set in the seldom seen city of Bhubaneswar, Zwigato follows the story of a food delivery rider who grapples with the world of ratings and algorithms.

Zwigato had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, Asian premiere at Busan International Film Festival, and its Indian premiere at Kerala International Film Festival.
