Man mauled to death by bear in central Kashmir

Srinagar, Jun 14: A 40-year-old man was mauled to death by a bear in central Kashmir district of Budgam, official sources said on Monday.

They said a man, identified as Mohammad Ramzan, was grazing his cattle in the higher reaches of Ladermed forest in Budgam. “The man was attacked a critically wounded by a bear in the forest late last night,” they said.

Ramzan was taken to a local hospital where he was declared brought dead. After completing all the legal and medical formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives for last rites.
