G-23 mere media creation: Azad

Jammu: The former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and ex- leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad said that G-23 group is mere creation of media.
“There is no G-23 group. This is mere creation of media. We are all part of Congress led by its president Sonia Gandhi. Few leaders have unanimously wrote a letter to president, suggesting measures to strengthen party but media termed it G-23, which does not exist,” Ghulam Nabi Azad told The News Now in an exclusive interaction.
This is the first interaction of Ghulam Nabi Azad after few senior leaders the group of 23 senior Congressman has been unofficially referred to as the 'G-23' faction shared a stage in Jammu on February 27.
Former Rajya Sabha member of Parliament Ghulam Nabi Azad, one of the 23, has invited his colleagues for The Gandhi Global Family event. Apart from Azad, Kapil Sibal, Manish Tewari, Anand Sharma, Bhupinder Hooda and Raj Babbar are also present.
“All leaders are busy in strengthening Congress in five poll bound states. Therefore, this is not right time to talk on this topic,” he added.
“Once the poll concludes, then we will talk on suggestions to strengthen the congress party. Right now our priority is to strengthen congress and improve its performance poll bound states,” he added.
When asked about his comeback in Jammu and Kashmir as chief ministerial face for the party, Azad said that this is not appropriate time to comment on this.
“I think that I have to work in J&K as well as in country. J&K is part is country. We all have to work for congress and help people to overcome the pandemic,” he added.
“All the political leaders and parties have to work together for the welfare of poor people, who were affected by COVID pandemic,” he added
“Once the pandemic will over, I will dedicate my time for congress in Jammu and Kashmir as well as across the country,” he said.
