28 pvt hospitals to administer vaccine

JAMMU: The Ministry of Health and Family welfare shortlisted 28 private hospitals across J&K on to administer COVID – 19 vaccines for the 2nd phase of vaccination drive for the 3rd prioritized group scheduled to start from 1st march.
Heath and family welfare ministry on Sunday issued a comprehensive list of private hospitals throughout India to administer the vaccine for COVID – 19 to curb the spread of virus.
List of comorbidities for those between 45-59 in the 3rd prioritized group - people above 60 and those with co morbidities from 45-49 - for the next phase of vaccination has also been released.
Citizens will be able to register and book and appointment for vaccination, anytime and anywhere, using the COWIN 2.0 portal or through other IT applications such as Arogya Setu etc.
So far 2,57,072 people have been already vaccinated in J&K, with 67% of the healthcare workers and 59% frontline workers. As earlier apprised by the Cabinet Secretary, arrangements have been made for the next phase of the vaccination drive, for 3rd prioritized group, that will begin on 1st march.
In the list are also 28 hospitals from J&K that will soon be administering the vaccine. Of the 28 hospitals 13 are from Jammu region while the rest of the 15 are from the Valley.
In Jammu district 8 hospitals at Talab Tillo, Gandhi Nagar, Sainik Colony, Sidhra, Karan Bagh and RohinMorh have been authorised. Similarly 1 in Kathua, 1 in Reasi, 2 in Samba and 1 in Udhampur have also been authorised as well.
From the Kashmir region 9 hospitals in Srinagar, 1 in Kupwara, 2 in Anantnag, 1 Kulgam, 1 in Pulwama and 1 in Badgam have also been authorised.
The Chief Secretary a day before in a meeting chaired by the Cabinet Secretary had told that the weekly rate of 40% hike in new cases was witnessed in J&K with travellers covering 2/3 of the cases. He had assured that districts with increased tourist footfall are being closely monitored.
