Alleged tampering with promotion Panel framed to review issue: Law deptt to ACB

Jammu: In the backdrop of complaint lodged by an official that he was demoted instead of promotion, the Jammu and Kashmir Law Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Department has farmed panel to ascertain the facts.
The Department said that the committee so constituted vide Govt Order No 26-JK (LD) to examine the representation of the complainant has so far revealed, “ perusal of record made available before the Committee reveals that the applicant initially stands promoted in Legal Gazetted Service on officiating basis along with the other Legal Assistants as Public Law Officers vide Govt Order No 1848 LD in the year 2013 which facts he has concealed in his representation”.
The Law Department issued communiqué in respect of the ACB’s letter in which ACB had sought the replay. The replay, however, has dismayed the aggrieved Law Officials namely Khalid Abdullah Shah who termed ACB’s move a appeasement policy before the Law Department.
Pertinently, Khalid Abdullah Shah, the law officials felt aggrieved after he was allegedly demoted from his present position. He made representation before the Secretary Law Department, Civil Secretariat over the issue and lodged a similar complaint before the ACB . As per the representation made by the victim Khalid Abdullah Shah, the copy of which is in possession of The News Now, he was appointed as Legal Assistant on 18.09.1997 and promoted in the officiating capacity as Assistant Legal Remembrancer on 2003. Vide Government order number 6135 LD ,Estt, 2017 sanction was granted for his officiating promotion as Deputy Legal Remembrancer pending confirmation from Departmental Promotion Committee. He also served on the same post in the office of Deputy Commissioner, Jammu and Directorate of Geology and Mining Department. He was shocked when he saw his name in the list of confirmation as Public Law Officer-lower rank.
