Harsh Nagar, the big name in the advertisement world having worked in more than 80 advertisements with some of the biggest names in Bollywood, is all set to make his bollywood debut in main lead with "Love Day". Trained from big names like Anupam Kher and Barry Jones, he was in the city of temples to promote his movie, which was release on 14th of October. Sahil Rasgotra met the upcoming star for an TNN exclusive.

It was long time coming, as you have been one of the most famous faces of Indian mainstream advertisement industry. But how does it actually feel to have your first Bollywood movie set to release?

Although I have been facing the camera since past many years and have also acted in a French movie but the experience of my first movie in Bollywood has been completely different. The whole process, right from signing the film, the making of the movie and then its posters, trailer and music, was so new and so special to me. It was like my own baby, which has finally come to life.

How was your experience working with a relatively younger cast and crew?

Since I have worked with many senior artists for my advertisements, I can actually compare my experiences. With established crew and cast, there is a very less scope for experiments and improvisation as the image and genres of various artists are already established. With younger people like we had in "Love Day", you can actually ask 10 more questions and even suggest few things. So, it was equally fun working with young people in this movie.

Your father is the legal advisor to Amitabh Bachchan, the superstar of the Millennium. How much was this of help in getting work in big advertisements and movies?

Let's get one thing straight. Movies are one of the most expensive art forms in the world and no one would invest a hundred million rupees on someone just because he is known to them. As far as Bachchan Sir is concerned, the whole world knows that he hasn't produced a movie for his own son, Abhishek Bachchan. The only privilege over majority I had was that since my father was working in Mumbai, I had a house, a car and a driver to boot with. Only the commute to screen tests was relatively comfortable. Once there, I was just another struggler.

You had played Taekwondo at national level; have been a famous dancer and also an advocate by education. Will we see you in another avatar after Acting?

As a kid I was always into extracurricular activities. I played Taekwondo at the national level. I practised horse riding and had a great experience as a dancer. I do hold a degree in law but did not practice it. As of now, I am completely devoted to acting and would concentrate here in coming times. However, I have interest in writing too and have a fairly successful stint as a writer for various web series. So, who knows, I might turn up a writer few years from now.
What sort of characters would you like to play in future?

I am more driven by concept than the character. It is always the concept and screenplay that excites me more than the character. While I would love to play different characters in all my movies, I wouldn't mind playing a college going boy 3 times in a row, if the concept of those 3 movies are different and compelling enough.

How often you visit Jammu. How has been the experience here?

I visit Jammu quite often as the place is very close to my heart, thanks to numerous visits I had here as a kid. The people here, the food and the scenic beauty here, especially in Patnitop and Gulmarg, everything about Jammu and Kashmir is amazing. I was here last year on my mother's birthday for a visit to Mata Vaishno Devi, whose birth date I got tattooed on my body. Even this visit was really special and I hope to come someday here for shooting of my movie.
