President, VP, PM Modi greet citizens on Durga Puja

NEW DELHI: President Ram Nath Kovind has greeted citizens on Durga Puja. In a message, Mr Kovind said, respect for women which has been Indian tradition is powerfully depicted in this festival. He urged everyone to take a firm resolve on this occasion to respect and empower the womenfolk, Matru-shakti.

Mr Kovind said, it is believed that Goddess Durga used the collective power of all Gods to overcome the invincible evil. He said it gives people the message that in these difficult times, any crisis confronting us can be overcome if we stand united.

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu has greeted people on the occasion of Durga Puja. In a tweet Mr Naidu hoped that Goddess Durga will bless people with her choicest blessings. He called upon people to resolve to eradicate the evils existing in society as it is the celebration of the victory of good over evil and together make the surroundings safe, healthy, liveable and prosperous.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today greeted people on the occasion of Maha Ashtami. In a tweet, Mr Modi said, he prays that Maa Durga continues to bless us all with happiness, good health and prosperity.
