Two SSB men killed in Kulgam fratricide

SRINAGAR: Two personnel of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) were on Monday evening killed in a fratricidal incident in a court complex in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
A paramilitary (SSB) personnel committed suicide after fratricidal killing of his colleague in Kulgam district on Monday evening, officials said.
Official sources said that there was some altercation between two troopers, ASI Sandeep Kumar and constanble Hemant Sharma of 49 battalion, SSB at the main gate of PC Kulgam.
“Constable Hemant lost the cool and fired by his issued INSAS rifle on the ASI killing him on the spot and in the meantime he fired on self. Both were dead at the spot”, a police officer said.
Superintendent of Police (SP), Gurinder Pal informed confirmed the incident.
“Two soldiers have died in the fratricide incident at Kulgam. We are collecting further details. Investigations have been launched into the incident,” he said.
