Corona wrangles: 3 DCs among 7 officers shifted

JAMMU: In a move apparently triggered by frequent confrontation between doctors and various arms of administration in ongoing Covid management, the Union Territory government today ordered reshuffle of three Deputy Commissioners –all in Kashmir Division.
Even as the officials described the reshuffle –including seven other officers –as a routine affair but the three districts which have seen change of Deputy Commissioners on Wednesday have been in news for disagreements and altercations between healthcare staff and various wings of administration.
Ravinder Kumar, IAS, currently the Managing Director of SIDCO with additional charge of Trade Promotion Organisation (TPO) has been posted as Deputy Commissioner Bandipore. The charge of TPO has been passed on to Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, Commissioner Secretary, Industries and Commerce department.
Shahbaz Mirza, currently, Deputy Commissioner Bandipore, has been posted as Deputy Commissioner Badgam. Only yesterday a video had gone viral showing Chief Medical Officer Badgam in heated exchange of words with the Police officers on a check point duty. Bandipore was in news last month following a confrontation between a group of doctors and the Deputy Commissioner.
KK Sidha, currently Officer on Special Duty with LG’s Advisor Baseer Khan, has been posted as Deputy Commissioner Anantnag. Sidha was earlier in Khan’s was office when the latter was Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, before being appointed as Advisor in March.
Anantnag’s Additional Deputy Commissioner Nazir Ahmed Khwaja has also been removed and asked to wait in the office of Divisional Commissioner Kashmir for further posting.
Bashir Ahmed Dar, currently the Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, has been posted as Managing Director SIDCO. Badgam Deputy Commissioner Tariq Hussain Ganai has been posted as Director Rural Sanitation, Jammu and Kashmir in place of Leena Padha, who has been posted as Special Secretary in the General Administration Department.
Director Libraries, GA Sofi, has been posted as Commissioner of Inquiries. Sheikh Arshad Ayub who was removed as Private Secretary to the Chief Secretary a couple of months ago has been posted as new Director Libraries. Arshad was currently Managing Director, State Roads Transport Corporation. Angrez Singh Rana, Member SSB, is the new MD of JKSRTC.
