JAMMU: The stage is all set for the curtain-raiser event of the maiden Jammu and Kashmir Global Investor Summit -2020 at New Delhi scheduled for Monday, where the officials from administration will interact with as many as 42 investors, who are willing to invest nearly Rs 13000 Crore in newly created Union Territory following abrogation of article 370 and 35-A.
The curtain-raiser event of the much-awaited Global Investor Summit -2020 will be held at Hotel Taj Mahal on Man Singh road in New Delhi on Monday.
“The administrative secretaries including Chief Secretary B V R Subrahmanyam, led by Lieutenant Governor G C Murmu have reached New Delhi to attend the event,” an official said.
“The event is planned in coordination with industries, central ministries, department for promotion of industries and internal trade (DPIIT), Ministry of external affairs (MEA) and Invest India — an investment promotion and facilitation agency,” he said.
Apart from the government officials, the programme will be attended by 42 investors, who have raised Expression of Interest (EoI) for investing Rs 13000 crore in Jammu and Kashmir.
“All 42 investors are from outside Jammu and Kashmir and there will be interaction between them and government officials,” he added.
The News Now has reliably learnt that the UT administration has received 62 Express of Interests (EoIs) of worth Rs 13000 crore from 42 investors across the country following union government decision to abrogate article 370 and 35-A and bifurcate Jammu and Kashmir in two Union Territories, on August 5 last year.
If sources to be believed, “apart from the other issues, threadbare discussion will be held on the various demands raised by the investors including tax rebate for 15 years.”
He informed that after the discussion, a formal announcement will be made regarding Jammu and Kashmir Global Investor Summit -2020.
Focused on bringing investment in 14 sectors that will boost jobs, economy as well as trade in J&K, the three-day summit will be held in April 2019.
The summit will be attended by diplomats, leaders from corporate sector, senior policy makers, development agencies and investors from across the world.
On January 9, the Industries and commerce department unveiled the logo of the first-ever Jammu and Kashmir global investors’ summit.
