4 suspected terrorists infiltrated in Jammu through Khour LOC, 3rd one in 12 days; search ops under way

Jammu: Amid ongoing Parliamentary Elections, the incidents of infiltration and terrorist attacks have increased significantly in Jammu and Kashmir. The fresh such incident has been reported in Khour area in Akhnoor sector where a group of four suspected terrorists is reported to have infiltrated in combat dress from Ikhni-Nullah (Border Police Post Jogwan) Police Station Khour and moved towards dense forest of Narojian/Saryala and Nullahs on Wednesday morning.
To neutralize them, a search operation has been launched by the army and Jammu and Kashmir Police.
The LOC area has been manned by 9 Punjab alongwith 02 companies of 09 JAKLI under 28 Infantry Brigade Sunderbani. Official sources told The News Now that the infiltration has been made from Pakistan side BOPs New/Old Ghalkhdi across the LOC. The Pakistan BOPs are manned by 651 Mujahid under 66 Infantry Div. PadharChhamb.
While ADGP Jammu Anand Jain did not honour phone calls for comment, official sources said that the attempts to infiltrate terrorist groups have increased. They said that after zero infiltration for many months, the attempts are made to push more and more infiltrators to revive dying militancy.
After the killing of a Village Defence Guard (VDG) member in Panara village of Basantgarh in Udhampur district on April 27 followed by an attack on Indian Air Force (IAF) vehicle in Shah Sattar forest area of Surankote in Poonch district in which one IAF official was killed, Indian Army is not letting any information go unnoticed.The Jammu and Kashmir Police have also issued the sketches of two terrorists involved in Poonch terror attack and announced reward of Rs 20 lakh for anyone who revealed their address . Later, forces released satellite pictures of terrorists involved in the attack on an IAF convoy in Surankote.
Meanwhile, search operations in Basantgarh and forest areas of adjoining Kathua and Doda districts, and Sanai forests of Surankote have entered 11th and fifth day, respectively, with no success to the security forces so far. Terrorists continue to remain at large and security forces have launched combing operations in both these areas.
Police and Army are manning the upper reaches of Kathua and Doda districts which are adjacent to Basantgarh area of Udhampur and till the time the operation is not called off by police and Army in Udhampur district, forces in Doda and Kathua will continue their operation.
Now, in Akhnoor another search operation has been launched following the suspected movement.
