Apni Party, PC all set to become ‘part’ of NDA…!

Modalities finalized, BJP gives instructions to cadres to ‘canvass’ for candidates in Kmr

Jammu: In what can be seen as an inevitable political development in the midst of Parliamentary polls, Sajad Lone led People’s Conference Altaf Bhukhari led Apni Party are set to become allies of BJP led NDA at Centre. It is only a matter of time the big announcement shall be made officially, most likely by May 10. BJP’s J&K incharge Tarun Chugh’s Kashmir visit on May 1 is seen very significant in that direction.
Sources confirmed the two parties finally coming into NDA fold in a matter of next two weeks, even as the the leaders have been seen hobnobbing with those in the BJP’s leadership who matter in getting them closer. Sources said while BJP leader Chugh has been seen making frequent visits to Kashmir and those visits have been projected as primarily to review part’s standing in Valley, he has also been instrumental in getting PC and Apni Party closer and finally into NDA fold ahead of elections to three important seats of Kashmir.
Tarun Chugh visited Srinagar on Wednesday and it was given to understand that he held a session with UT’s core group which was also attended by leaders from valley. While it is true that party meeting was held in Srinagar to discuss several issues related to BJP but essentially it was a very crucial meeting in context of LS polls. Sources said Chugh gave instructions to leaders to mobilize the cadres across Valley, primarily for Baramulla and Srinagar seat to support PC and Apni Party candidates.
While BJP has been giving indications for a long time that it intends to contest elections on Kashmir seats and for this the leaders have been pushed into ‘active’ mode to activate and organize cadres across valley, the party broke that momentum and enthusiasm by announcing it will not field candidates on any of the seats. However, the leaders were seen not breaking connect with Kashmir cadres at any stage which kept this anticipation alive that it might ‘stitch’ some allies.
Tarun Chugh’s visit to Srinagar last month and meeting with Altaf Bhukhari at his home gave credence to the possibility of BJP weaving up alliance strategy with the party. BJP leaders meetings with Sajad Lone made it further evident that party wishes him to emerge victorious on Baramulla seat, which candidates of both the parties are unofficially the candidates of BJP.
