Says Azad a true well-wisher of Kashmir

SRINAGAR: The Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) named Amir Ahmed Bhat on Monday as its candidate from the Srinagar parliamentary constituency.
In a meeting headed by Ghulam Nabi Azad, Chairman DPAP, it has been decided that Amir Ahmed Bhatt, District President DPAP, Srinagar, as its candidate from Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency, read the press note issued by the party.
Following the announcement, the District President of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP), Srinagar, expressed deep gratitude to party President Ghulam Nabi Azad and the party leadership for bestowing trust in him as the parliamentary candidate for the Srinagar parliamentary constituency.
Amir Bhat affirmed his commitment to engaging with the electorate through the election manifesto meticulously crafted by the party's high command.
He expressed his hope that the people of the Srinagar parliamentary constituency would honour and support the manifesto, emphasizing that equitable development remains the party's primary agenda under Ghulam Nabi Azad's leadership.
He lauded Azad's clear vision for the comprehensive development of Jammu and Kashmir, citing the historical progress achieved during Azad's tenure as Chief Minister. Amir expressed optimism that in the current political climate, voters would choose DPAP, symbolized by a bucket, during the upcoming May 13, 2024 elections.
Amir also denounced August 5, 2019, as one of the darkest days in Indian history, recalling the widespread siege imposed on Kashmir. He highlighted Ghulam Nabi Azad's impassioned plea in Parliament, stressing that true integrity cannot be legislated but must be built on trust.
Amir emphasized Azad's genuine concern for Kashmir's welfare and urged the public to cast their votes in support of him to amplify the voice of the Peoples Democratic Azad Party (PDAP).
Talking to The News Now, Amir said he is one of the founding members of DPAP and has been associated with Azad since the party was established. He said, “I will file the nominations today or tomorrow”.
