SRINAGAR: Rajya Sabha MP Er Ghulam Ali Khatana has written to the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir to take cognizance of the long pending issues of CIC operators working under the Rural Development Department (RDD) in J&K.
CIC operators had written to Khatana stating that they had been recruited through a proper recruitment process by District Level Committee headed by Deputy Commissioners.
In 2016, the Rural Development Department took a momentous stride by creating 172 Data Entry Operator posts in the Rural Development Department through Government order 320-RD & PR of 2016 dated 14.12.2016, aligning seamlessly with cabinet directives to regularize our services under the Special Provision Act (2010), they said.
The operators, working in the UT’s rural development department (RDD) and handling all the online work like e-gram-swaraj, swachhbharat mission (SBM), pradhanmantriawas yojana (PMAY-G), peoples plan campaign (sabkiyojnasabkavikaas), gram panchayat development plans (GPDP), mission antyodaya , public financial management system (PFMS) and other e-governance related activities, have been drawing a monthly remuneration of mere ₹10,000.
Khatana has meanwhile urged the administration to prioritise resolving their genuine concerns regarding regularization of their services. He has urged the administration to resolve the issues of CIC operators including regularisation of their services against the Data Entry Operator.
“You are requested to take the cognizance of the matter and resolve the issue so that justice could be delivered to the aggrieved candidates,” reads the letter.
Last month also, two Rajya Sabha members of Parliament had written a letter to the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for his immediate intervention into the matter. Saket Gokhale, MP, Rajya Sabha in a letter to LG Sinha regarding the urgent grievances of CIC Operators of the Rural Development Department (RDD), J&K, have sought his urgent intervention in resolving their grievances.
Dr Fauzia Khan, MP Rajya Sabha in her letter to the LG Manoj Sinha besides seeking hike in their salaries, have also sought the regularization of their services, approved by the J&K Cabinet in 2014 and further endorsed by various committees and legal bodies, remains pending despite years of follow-up.
