BJP’s zeroed focus on Anantnag-Rajouri ticket extends brainstorming at Party High Command

Saffron making all out attempt to crown Parl with first blossomed lotus in Valley

JAMMU: The electoral elixir in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir is presenting a political cocktail leaving elite, critical analysts and the general people in a fix over the final outcome of the names of the candidates to contest under their respective parties.
To start with, the much watched BJP itself seems in a bewildered impediment as to how to move on for the much hyped Anantnag-Rajouri contest which has become the hotspot arena.
As already reported that PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti is all likely to set up her footprints in the prestigious seat, the BJP also has zeroed its clinical focus to grab the prominent belt to its credit.
The BJP party high command meet that was scheduled to wrap up a day earlier at New Delhi has prolonged with both UT president Ravinder Raina and its organizational secretary Ashok Koul extending their sojourn to seal the final deal.
The sources at New Delhi have revealed some exciting inputs about the brain storming session that disclose that High Command is rolling its heads over newly carved Anantnag-Rajouri ticket which Ravinder Raina seems to be quite demanding for .
“BJP would be leaving no stone unturned to ensure that Anantnag-Rajouri falls into its kitty an d Ravinder Raina is particular about the contest from the belt to win the seat to credit crown on its head into the Parliament boasting to have blossomed first lotus in valley,” said the sources , adding, “ Otherwise Jammu seat for Ravinder Raina would be a win on platter for him “.
They further reveal that the party does not see any other better candidate than Raina for Anantnag-Rajouri as he holds good command and connects with the people in the belt as per their culture, dialect and language also. Though a surprise name of Shenaz Ganai is also in the list, consideration for her is quite weak.
With certain areas of Poonch and Rajouri districts of Jammu region clubbed in Anantnag Lok Sabha seat of south Kashmir, the BJP is hopeful of making an impact and thus is making all efforts to boost its support base in the Valley.
However , what turn of events shape up in the coming days from the opposition parties viz Congress , NC, and PDP , it yet remains to be seen , but as far as recent rhetoric from erstwhile chief minister Omar Abdullah, the NC would go ‘all out’ to defeat BJP for making greater inroads .
As far as poll prospects of the seat are concerned, there is likelihood of ‘boycott’ trends in the valley with Anantnag being no exception. A few Kashmiri Pandit votes from the region would be good solace for BJP.
The only impediment that BJP is likely to face in this parliamentary seat would be the clubbing of the opposition parties in support of Mehbooba Mufti to keep saffron at bay. If such an arrangement happens, Mehbooba is likely to gain an advantage with NC’s Mian Altaf being a major role player vote swing.
Under such pressing conditions, sources reveal that BJP JK unit which is still brainstorming at New Delhi is sitting pretty over Jammu and Udhampur-Kathua Parliamentary seats; it’s only for Anantnag-Rajouri that Party heads are rolling for a final call.
