PM Modi to lay foundation stone of 13 critical care blocks for J&K on Sunday

Foundation stone will be laid in virtual mode from Rajkot

Jammu: To give further impetus to healthcare infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir and provide succor to acutely ill patients, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be laying the foundation stone of 13 critical care blocks.
Just a few days back PM inaugurated All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Vijaypur during his Jammu visit. On February 25(Sunday) PM Modi will be laying the foundation stone of these critical care blocks via virtual mode from Rajkot in Gujarat. The patients in the new medical colleges and district hospitals in J&K will get advanced medical facilities with the establishment of such critical care blocks being built under the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission.
Prime Minister will also be inaugurating a few of the completed Critical Care Blocks, besides laying the foundation stone of Critical Care Blocks across the country on February 25. The hospitals in which the foundation stone of Critical Care Block will be laid include a block with a capacity of 100 beds to be built in Government Medical College Hospital Jammu for Rs 44.50 crore, a block with a capacity of 100 beds to be built in District Hospital Budgam at a cost of Rs 44.50 crore, Kulgam District Hospital includes a block to be built for Rs 23.75 crore.
Moreover, critical care blocks with a capacity of fifty beds each are being built in Government Medical College, Rajouri and Government Medical College, Kathua, costing Rs 23.75 crore each.
The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of a Critical Care Block at a cost Rs 23.75 crore with fifty beds capacity at Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences Bemina. Apart from this, PM will also lay the foundation stone of the critical care block to be built in six district hospitals under the Covid-19 Emergency Response and Health System Package Phase-II. These district hospitals include Pulwama, Kupwara, Reasi, Ganderbal, Poonch and Shopian district hospitals. Each critical care block will cost Rs 23.75 crore and will have a capacity of fifty beds each.
As per Health and Medical Education Department, the survey has been completed for the construction of critical care block with a capacity of 100 beds each to be built in GMC Jammu and District Hospital Budgam. Detailed Project Report(DPR) for the upcoming critical care blocks has been finalized and tenders have also been invited. Moreover the survey for other 11 critical care blocks has also been completed and tenders have been invited. Senior officials of the department shared that work of 11 critical care blocks for which the Funds have also been released will also start after PM lays the foundation stone.
Last evening a high level meeting was also held to finalize the programs to be held on Sunday in which the concerned District Development Commissioners were asked to make high level arrangements for audio and video broadcasting.
