Jammu: Seeking cooperation from the consumers, the Principal Secretary, Power Development Department (PDD, H Rajesh Prasad said that the reliable and affordable 24X7 power supply is only possible after losses dip to below 15 percent in the Union Territory, which is presently higher than the national average.
He further said that consumers can play a key role in bringing power losses down by stopping pilferage and paying bills.
“We are committed to our promise of supplying 24X7 power in areas having 100 percent smart meters with the condition that the losses should come down below 15 per cent and there should be no pilferage in such areas. So, it is the duty of the citizens to report such pilferages and use the power judiciously,” he said while talking exclusively to The News Now.
He further spoke on various issues including the consumption, revenue generation; and metered and unmetered connections across the union territory (UT), and the target set by the PDD to accomplish the goals in next three years. Read the full interview on page 3.
