Ineligible Block Accounts Manager Gandhi Nagar Hospital appeared on the list

Jammu:Without the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Jammu’s recommendations and not eligible for the awards being conferred by the Directorate of National Health Mission (NHM) ASHAs, ASHA, and PMU for their performance on Republic Day, the name of Block Accounts Manager (BAM), Gandhi Nagar Hospital Jammu appeared in the final list forwarded to the Deputy Commissioners.
The Directorate of NHM had sought nominations from CMOs of all districts of JK UT under well-defined criteria, for two best-performing ASHAs and two best-performing ASHA facilitators, one best-performing block ASHA coordinator, and one best-performing Block Monitoring & Evaluation Officer from each district of JK UT.
“Some officials in the directorate overlooking the criteria, fixed by the higher authorities, deliberately inserted the name of BAM Gandhi Nagar Hospital, Jammu. Further same has been finalized by the State Health Society (SHIS), despite the fact, this institution does not fulfill the criteria laid for the rewards. The final list has been shared with all District Development Commissioners, Chairpersons District Health Societies of the district of the UT. As these nominees will be awarded at the district level”, an insider informed the News Now.
“In reference to the subject cited above, the nominations from District Jammu are two best performing ASHAs Rekha Devi, village Biaspur Block RS Pura and Radha Devi, ASHA, village Dori Dager Block Chowki Choura, two best performing ASHA facilitators Sunita Kumari, Block Akhnoor and Gyatari Devi, Block Jammu Urban, one block ASHA coordinator, one block monitoring & evaluation officer and one block account manager Vipan Kumari, Block Marh and Ajay Kumar, Block Akhnoor and Nidhi Nagpal, Block Chowki Choura respectively”, the CMO nominated the awardee in a letter written to Mission Director National Health Mission, J&K vide no CMO-J/NHM/DHS/3390, dated 17/01/2023.
Mission Director National Health Mission, J&K, Sanjiv M. Gadkar when contacted distanced himself from this controversy. “I’m not aware of this, I cannot comment without checking the record”, he added.
