Six Pak military officials killed in helicopter crash

New Delhi: Six Pakistani military officials, including XII Corps Commander Lt. General Sarfraz Ali, were killed Monday night in a helicopter crash in Balochistan.
The Pakistani military on Tuesday released a statement saying the chopper went down in bad weather. The wreckage of the chopper was found near Musa Goth in Lasbela district of Balochistan.
“All 6 officers, including Lt Gen Sarfraz Ali, embraced shahadat,” added the Pakistani military.
Apart from the XII Corps Commander, Director-General of Pakistan’s Coast Guard Amjad Hanif Satti also perished in the crash.
The other four included one brigadier, two majors, and a naik. They were Brigadier Muhammad Khalid, Major Saeed Ahmed, Major M. Talha Manan, and Naik Mudassar Fayyaz.
ThePrint reported earlier that the chopper was involved in relief operations in the Balochistan region after heavy rains caused floods, killing several people.
Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif tweeted in condolence, “Nation is deeply grieved on the martyrdom of Lt. General Sarfraz Ali & 5 other officers of Pakistan Army. They were doing a sacred duty of providing relief to flood affectees. Will remain eternally indebted to these sons of soil. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.”
