Inspection of schools

While the schools have been reopened after almost a gap of two years, which were closed due to COVID pandemic, the Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) have been directed to inspect at least five schools in a week in their respective zones and report to the Directorate of School Education, Jammu. The Education Department has taken some steps to check the level of education after reopening of the schools. As per new directives, the Zonal Education Officers of all the zones will inspect at least five schools in a week to monitor the status of education besides other facilities and report same to the Directorate of School Education Jammu between 1 to 5 of every month. The Directorate of School Education Jammu has passed on directions to the Chief Education Officers of all the districts asking them to prepare their respective Zonal Education Officers and send them to the schools for monitoring.The Directorate has ordered for special investigation of classes from third to eighth standard to ascertain the education level, adding they said, “apart from this, instructions have also been given to the CEOs to make surprise visits to the schools and find out the shortcomings and address them accordingly. With a purpose that the children studying in the government schools should get better facilities and healthy education, the Directorate of School Education will leave no stone unturned and take quality education with facilities at their doorsteps.Schools in Jammu and Kashmir reopened from February 14 for classes IX to XII and from February 21 for junior classes.Earlier due to COVID pandemic, online classes were being organised by the schools.Examinations will also be taken offline in the month of March but some schools will be conducting examinations online,” they added and said that on the other hand, the Jammu and Kashmir Education Board has also geared up to conduct the Class X and XII examinations offline and the students are already informed about it. The directions of School education department will improve over all conditions of education system.
