If you are planning of your ‘dream house’ but worried about the completion of various formalities including the No Objection Certificate issued by the Jammu Development Authority and the Jammu Municipal Corporation then leave aside all your worries because the administration has simplified the process of obtaining the permission document, which has to be issued maximum in a month period. However, the applications with errors or flaws may face some hardships to get the NOCs otherwise it will no longer be a tough task for those who want to have their ‘dream house’. The NOC as per an official will be cleared from a single window at Jammu Municipal Corporation under an ambit of Smart City project. Now one do not have to wait for months to get the NOC for constructing a colony or a residential house in the city and in one month, the document will be issued to the applicants. The applicants now do not have to make frequent visits to the offices of the JDA or JMC because the process has been simplified and the NOC has to be completed and issued by the JMC itself. Exactly seven days after the submission of the file, a message regarding approval or error (if any) will be conveyed on the registered cell phone of the applicant and the Jammu Municipal Corporation will complete the online application in maximum 21 days after its approval and the construction work can be taken up. A committee has been framed recently in the General House to simplify the process of issuing the NOC while the housing bylaws have also been amended. The committee has submitted its report and the permission is not only be issued for residential houses but also other buildings like hotels and multiplexes under the norms of Smart City project.
As of now around 2200 applications have been received for NOC from the Municipal Corporation since 2020 but due to the several terms and conditions, NOC could not be issued. In 2021 around 800 applications are received for NOC wherein the applicants have applied for constructing 2BHK, 3 BHK and 4 BHK. The new bylaws submitted by the committee have been passed in the House. So, availing NOC has become easy.
