Ensure hygiene in Quarantine centres: HC

JAMMU: A Division Bench of J&K High Court Jammu Comprising Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Vinod Chatterji Koul directed the authorities of the Union Territory to ensure that the quarantine centers are hygienically maintained and necessary facilities are provided to the persons who are lodged therein.
Hearing a Public Interest Litigation regarding Covid-19, the court passed these directions after going through a status report dated June 15, filed by Divisional Commissioner Jammu Sanjeev Verma, giving the details of the steps being taken to ensure that the quarantine centers are properly maintained.
After the government counsels enumerated the step being taken ensuring provision of care to dependants and families of healthcare personnel and government personnel engaged in COVID-19 management, the court said expressed its satisfaction while asking the JKSLSA to also interact with the dependents of the COVID warriors and ensure their welfare and wellbeing and directed that a report be filed in this regard before the next date of hearing.
