APRIL 25: In a moment of immense pride for Jammu & Kashmir, its Master’s Women Basketball team who have etched their names in the annals of Indian sports history by clinching Gold medal at the 7th Masters National Games held in Dharamshala.
Making their debut at the prestigious tournament, the teams delivered standout performances that have inspired a wave of celebration and admiration across the region. Organized by the Masters Games Association Himachal Pradesh under the aegis of the Super Masters Games and Sports Federation (India), the tournament witnessed J&K’s athletes shine on a national platform, proving their mettle and leaving an indelible mark.
Leading the double charge as Coach, Captain Mousmi Verma’s performance was nothing short of spectacular. Punching her 3 point shots Mousmi outshined, 2 point shots from Sakshi, Shital, Madhu, Pushvinder and Free shots conversions by Ankita and Sakshi. Good defense moves were showcased by Mousmi, Shital, Vasundhra & Meetu. These players leadership and skill on the court earned them victory. All the teamwork showcased exceptional coordination and resilience throughout the tournament.

The squad, including familiar faces like Mousmi Verma, Sakshi Sharma, Vasundhra Dubey, Shital Jamwal, Pushvinder Kour, Madhu, Ankita Singh & Meetu Singh earned widespread applause for their spirit and sportsmanship. These players termed the victory as a landmark achievement for the UT.
