Jammu: Jammu & Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary has issued a clarification regarding his recent remarks on Maharaja Hari Singh, stating that his words were twisted and taken out of context by certain individuals for their own agenda. However, he expressed regret if his comments inadvertently hurt the sentiments of the people.
Maharaja Hari Singh was a revered figure and a leader for all communities of Jammu & Kashmir. My statement was distorted to create unnecessary controversy. If my words have hurt anyone’s sentiments, I deeply regret it. That was never my intention, said Choudhary.
He further reiterated his respect for the Maharaja’s legacy, acknowledging his contributions to the development of J&K, including key reforms, infrastructure projects, and progressive policies.
The Deputy CM also emphasized that the J&K Budget 2025-26, presented by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, is focused on **good governance, economic growth, and inclusive development. He assured that the government is committed to working for the welfare of the people and fulfilling the promises made during the elections.
“Our focus remains on governance and addressing the aspirations of the people of Jammu & Kashmir. We are here to serve, and this budget is just the beginning of our journey towards progress,” he added.
