‘College Admin outsourced admission during COVID 19 Pandemic’

Jammu: To unearth the alleged admission scam, a team of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Jammu today conducted a Joint Surprise Check (JSC) at the Government College for Women Parade, Jammu. The probe on the part of the ACB started taking place on the base of a complaint received by the investigating agency in which it is alleged that College Administration is involved in an admission scam.
During the operation, numerous documents related to the admissions and stock records of the college over the past few years were seized by the officers sent by the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Jammu.
Official sources told The News Now that the administration of GCW Parade outsourced the admission during COVID 19 Pandemic i,e in the year 2019 and 2020. The private vendor which was hired by the College Administration charged online fees ranging from Rs 28000 to Rs 32000 from around 5,500 students. The hefty amount was later released by the vendor in favour of the College Administration but in installments and after taking prolonged time with the motive to enjoy bank interest.
“We have a professor who happens to be Head of The Department of some particular faculty. The said HoD is under scanner for illegal detention of a woman. To divert attention, he has lodged a false complaint. The ACB is investigating the matter and we are cooperating with it”, said a faculty member of GCW Parade, wishing anonymity.
