11 FEB: Launching a scathing attack on CM Omar Abdullah, People’s Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti said that Omar should have taken up the matter of Kathua and Sopore killings to Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Talking to media, Mehbooba Mufti said Statehood is something which will be restored down the line but these were the crucial issues which needed the attention of Amit Shah.
Since Omar is Chief Minister of UT he should have brought this issue to kind notice of Union Home Minister said PDP chief.
Pertinent to mention, in Kathua, a youth named Makhan Din allegedly committed suicide and blamed Police authority for the torture and in Sopore a truck driver Waseem Ahmed jumped the checkpost and was killed by Army.
