Ramban, October 8: One person was killed and eight others were injured after a Sumo vehicle overturned in the Senabati area of Ukherhal in Ramban district on Thursday, officials said.
According to officials, the accident occurred after the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn.
The injured were immediately shifted to nearby health facilities. Two of them were later referred to District Hospital Ramban, while six others were shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag for further treatment.
The deceased was identified as Vijay Singh, son of Raj Singh, a resident of Chunthan, Senabati.
Those referred to District Hospital Ramban were identified as Soni Chand, son of Amar Chand, who sustained a head injury, and Sunil Singh, son of Pyar Singh.
The injured shifted to GMC Anantnag were identified as Anand Singh, son of Pawan Singh; Anil Chand, son of Amar Chand; Naresh Singh, son of Raj Singh; Jatinder Singh, son of Pyar Singh; Ravinder Singh, son of Dharam Singh, who was critically injured, and Ravit Singh, son of Pyar Singh.
Authorities have taken note of the incident, and the circumstances leading to the accident are being investigated.
