JAMMU, Oct 5: National Conference chief spokesperson and Zadibal MLA Tanvir Sadiq on Monday said the government is exploring a solution to the concerns of protesting vocational trainers and urged authorities to expedite the pending regularisation process for daily wagers.
Sadiq said vocational trainers may meet Health Minister Sakina Itoo and expressed hope that their concerns would be resolved soon.
On daily wagers, he said the Assembly had set a six-month deadline for a report on their regularisation, but the report remains pending even after a year. He urged the Chief Secretary to complete and submit it to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah so the process can move ahead.
On the MBBS-related issue, Sadiq said the Health Minister was personally looking into the matter and expressed confidence that it would be resolved.
Sadiq also highlighted what he described as improvements in power, roads and education under the Omar Abdullah-led government. He said MLA constituency development funds had increased from Rs 2 crore to Rs 4 crore, enabling more local works.
He said the government would work to fulfil its electoral commitments during the remaining three years of its term, while stressing that a strong opposition is essential for a healthy democracy.
