Jammu: In a major administrative reshuffle, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Thursday ordered the transfer and posting of several Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) officers belonging to the AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territories) cadre, bringing significant changes to the administrative and police set-up in Jammu & Kashmir.
The transfers have been ordered with immediate effect and will remain in force until further orders.
As part of the reshuffle, Jammu & Kashmir has been allotted three IAS officers and eight IPS officers, while two IAS and four IPS officers presently serving in the Union Territory have been transferred to other AGMUT segments.
Among the IAS officers posted to Jammu & Kashmir, Saugat Biswas (2006 batch) has been transferred from Arunachal Pradesh, Mamta Yadav (2021 batch) has been shifted from Delhi, and Ishita Rathi (2022 batch) has been moved from Puducherry.
At the same time, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary (2009 batch) has been transferred from Jammu & Kashmir to Arunachal Pradesh, while Swati Sheemar (2023 batch) has been posted from Jammu & Kashmir to Delhi.
The MHA has also ordered a substantial reshuffle in the IPS cadre. Vishnu Kumar (2019 batch) has been transferred from Delhi to Jammu & Kashmir, while Arshi Aadil (2019 batch) and Tikam Singh Verma (2020 batch) have been shifted from Goa to the Union Territory.
K.M. Priyanka (2021 batch) has been transferred from Chandigarh, while Rajeev Kumar Ambasta, Deepak Yadav, Anand Kumar Mishra and Satish Kumar have all been posted from Delhi to Jammu & Kashmir.
Among the IPS officers transferred out of Jammu & Kashmir, Rajesh Kumar Sharma has been posted to Chandigarh, Tanushree (2017 batch) has been shifted to Delhi, Deepika (2018 batch) has been transferred to Puducherry, and Gaurav Sikarwar (2019 batch) has been posted to Goa.
The reshuffle is part of the Centre’s routine cadre management exercise aimed at ensuring balanced deployment of officers and strengthening governance across the AGMUT cadre. The transfer order covers officers serving in Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram, Puducherry, Chandigarh, Lakshadweep, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu. Copies of the order have been forwarded to the concerned Chief Secretaries, Administrators and other authorities for immediate implementation.
